The Recruiting Coordinator will play a crucial role in supporting the recruitment and integration of lateral partners and of counsel under the direction of the Director, Partner Growth and Manager, Legal Integration. This position requires a highly organized and detail-oriented individual with excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team-oriented, collaborative environment. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in legal talent acquisition and will be adept at managing multiple projects and priorities.
Key Responsibilities/Duties:
Recruiting
- Support strategic and opportunistic recruitment of partners and of counsel, including individuals and groups.
- Coordinate with search firm partners, including process management of partner search firm agreements and tracking.
- Create and assist in updating recruitment plans.
- Create and coordinate interview schedules for partner and of counsel candidates.
- Manage candidate travel arrangements.
- Communicate directly with employees, candidates, and search firms regarding schedules.
- Coordinate meeting scheduling, reimbursement requests, and other support as needed.
- Collect and review interview feedback and evaluations.
- Manage candidate information using Vi, File Site, OneNote, and other tools.
- Track and monitor due diligence items such as LPQ, conflict checks, and background checks.
- Assist with offer terms and contracts.
- Assist with search firm road shows and manage search firm gifting.
Integration
- Support onboarding and integration of lateral attorneys, including individuals and groups.
- Prepare and distribute documentation related to the pre-arrival, onboarding and integration of partners and of counsel.
- Schedule, prepare and distribute orientation schedules.
- Manage and execute onboarding tasks as assigned.
- Assist with monitoring, tracking, and record maintenance of lateral hires during their integration period.
- Assist in the development and implementation of integration programs and initiatives.
Additional Responsibilities
- Collaborate with Practice Groups, Finance, Human Resources, Information Technology, Marketing & Business Development, Conflicts, and other departments.
- Maintain day-to-day engagement and responsibility across various projects to ensure materials, correspondence, meetings, and other logistics are executed professionally.
- Perform other administrative tasks as needed to support the Partner Growth and Integration team.
- Perform data entry, database auditing, and reporting (regular and ad-hoc).
- Continuously learn and enhance the use of recruitment tools to improve effectiveness and add value.
- Collaborate with others in the firm to continually enhance recruiting and integration efforts and improve candidate and internal stakeholder experience.
- Stay current on industry recruitment and integration trends and suggest best practices and process improvements.
- Ensure consistent implementation of firm policies and procedures.
- Handle budgeting tasks such as payment processing, budget tracking and updates, credit card reconciliation, and expense review.
- Participate in special projects as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Education/Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience required.
- Minimum of 3 years of recruiting experience, preferably in a law firm.
- Experience working with third-party search and recruitment firms.
- Proven success in a talent acquisition role.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently, organize and accurately prioritize work, understand when urgency is requires and use good judgment in varied situations.
- Demonstrated ability to use good judgment in taking initiative while asking for direction or clarification and consulting with other, as appropriate.
- Professional dedication and a desire to learn and grow.
- Excellent communication skills: interpersonal, verbal, and written, including in person, virtual, and on the phone.
- Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy.
- Excellent analytical, critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Willingness to be flexible with time and adjust to a changing work environment.
