Description
The Recruiting Coordinator will play a key role in the hiring process by supporting the recruitment efforts for attorneys, legal professionals, and administrative staff. This position will work closely with the HR team, hiring managers, and external stakeholders to ensure a seamless and positive candidate experience.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS (Including, but not limited to):
- Coordinate and schedule interviews for candidates at all levels, including attorneys, legal support staff, and administrative personnel.
- Serve as a point of contact for candidates, hiring managers, and external recruiters throughout the hiring process.
- Manage job postings on internal and external platforms, ensuring accuracy and consistency.
- Track candidate progress through the applicant tracking system (ATS) and maintain organized recruitment records.
- Assist in drafting and sending offer letters, background check requests, and other pre-employment documentation.
- Organize and attend recruitment events, including law school career fairs and networking functions.
- Support lateral hiring efforts, coordinating directly with partners and department heads.
- Assist with onboarding coordination for new hires, including orientation schedules, ensuring a smooth transition into the firm.
- Maintain compliance with employment laws and firm policies related to hiring and recruiting practices, including Affirmative Action and Mansfield certification.
- Provide administrative support for recruitment-related projects and initiatives as needed.
Position Requirements

- Knowledge of editing, proofreading and basic administrative skills; excellent grammar skills.
- Job duties may require time over 37.50 hours per week.
QUALIFICATIONS, REQUIRED:
- 1-3 years of experience in recruitment coordination, preferably in a legal or professional services environment.
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills with high attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Experience using an Applicant Tracking System (ATS) and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
QUALIFICATIONS, PREFERRED:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
- Prior working experience in a legal office.
- Prior working experience in a human resources position or recruiting.
- Experience with the following software: iManage
- Knowledge of legal industry hiring practices is a plus.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
- Requires use of office equipment, such as computers, phones, and copiers.
- Requires sitting and computer-related activities for extended periods of time.
- Requires occasional lifting up to and exceeding 20 pounds.
SALARY & BENEFITS
Competitive base salary commensurate with experience: $48,000 - $65,000 annually.
Posted salary ranges are made in good faith. Winthrop & Weinstine reserves the right to adjust ranges depending on the experience/qualifications of the selected candidate as well as internal and external equity.
