We are looking for a Talent and Employee Experience Specialist to join our team. AVR recently joined the McNamara Contracting team, giving this role an exciting opportunity to support both companies and create impactful change within talent strategy initiatives, talent pipelines, onboarding, recruitment marketing, and more. To be successful in this role, the employee must have great communication skills, a strong customer service focus, be a self-starter, ability to manage multiple demands simultaneously and be excited to develop programs and procedures.


Position Description

This list of duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Talent Acquisition

  • Leader of full cycle recruiting process
  • Perform background check and pre-employment screening process
  • Responsible to educate our workforce about our hiring practices and career opportunities 
  • Work with management to identify department needs, job duties, qualifications, and skills
  • Manage and maintain all company job descriptions
  • Attend career fairs to represent the McNamara Companies and attract talent 
  • File and maintain employment records including interview guides, new hire paperwork, disposition codes, and more to support our affirmative action obligations
  • Confirm recruitment practices are compliant with company policies and government requirements

Onboarding Management

  • Develop, implement, and support the onboarding process for new hires
  • Develop, implement, and support new hire training programs

Marketing and Branding

  • Write and place job advertising in various media
  • Utilize our company website and other online recruiting sources to attract and identify talent
  • Support marketing and branding efforts
  • Manage vendor relationships

Special Projects

  • Manage company events such as the company holiday party
  • Develop and lead employee recognition programs
  • Manage company merchandise
  • Other duties as assigned

Position Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience required
  • PHR or SHRM-CP preferred
  • 5+ year’s experience in Human Resources preferred
  • 3+ year’s experience in a recruiting/talent acquisition role required
  • Excellent interpersonal skills such as conflict resolution skills, ability to maintain confidentiality, polished professional demeanor, focus to remain open to others' ideas and willingness to try new approaches
  • Communication with employees and managers across all levels of the organization
  • Analytical focus and self-motivation to document process and improvements
  • Personal Attributes: Personable, Excellent Conversationalist, Attention to Detail, Problem Solving, Process Driven, Efficiency, Learning Orientation, and Customer Service
  • Ability to travel locally
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite

Physical demands:

  • Using hands, talking, hearing
  • Ability to drive a vehicle 
  • Working conditions are indoor
