This position is responsible for shaping the overall strategic direction of recruiting, and you will inspire the HR team to deliver on the strategy you have created. You will also be responsible for the overall leadership, development, implementation and communication of the TA strategy, structure, people and processes across the company. If you have deep knowledge and understanding of Workday, for both HRIS and an Applicant Tracking System, then you could be an ideal candidate. Workday expertise is a must for this for this position. This role oversees an internal talent acquisition team as well as external vendors and partners.

Job Description:

Job Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Develop and manage the talent acquisition team, providing performance and career development feedback to team members.
  • Create and maintain effective recruiting process policies, standards, and procedures
  • Recruit select executive and corporate positions, managing process from intake call through offer
  • Lead and mentor the University talent acquisition team to discover and implement creative solutions to staffing challenges, help the team to excel in sourcing, screening, and selecting top talent and strategically partnering with hiring managers and stakeholders.
  • Lead the development of effective recruitment and employer brand strategies to create a strong pipeline of candidates for recruiting and attract top talent, ensuring best in class candidate experience.
  • Deliver regular updated status reports on open roles and hiring metrics to leadership
  • Manage market relationships through regular attendance on market recruiting calls
  • Oversee and help create strategies designed to meet and maintain diversity and inclusion objectives.
  • Manage new and on-going analytics, metrics and reporting to evaluate the effectiveness of talent acquisition strategies and activities.
  • Evaluate and manage third party providers like Workday, Indeed, LinkedIn, Glassdoor, and Handshake to ensure high service, manageable costs, and effective outsourcing.
  • Develop and implement workforce planning and competitive intelligence strategies to ensure strong responsiveness to business needs.
  • Partner with hiring managers to develop, implement and execute the recruiting strategy and selection for key leadership roles and other roles as needed.
  • Stay current and ensure organizational compliance with all relevant laws and regulations.

Required Qualifications:

  • Skills & Abilities
    • Full cycle recruiting experience
    • Demonstrated knowledge of employment laws, regulations, and guidelines
    • Strong relationship building skills with candidates, hiring managers, recruiting and HR colleagues and vendors.
    • Ability to work collaboratively within HR and Business functions.
    • Excellent oral and written communication skills including strong phone and persuasion skills and the ability to develop effective presentations using data to effectively communicate key messages.
    • Strong financial acumen and attention to detail
    • Proven conflict management and problem-solving skills
  • Years of Experience
    • 4 years of work experience in recruiting/talent acquisition, with career progression, as well as recent experience having led a TA Recruiting team.
    • 3 years of people management or supervisory experience
    • Workday Applicant Tracking System experience (preferred)
    • Has worked with and understands a unionized workforce (preferred)
    • Demonstrated proficiency in sourcing techniques with experience recruiting for a broad range of positions.
  • Education
    • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Industrial Relations, Business or related area of study, or equivalent combination of education and/or relevant work experience
