Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Sources and identify potential candidates through various channels including online platforms, social media, networking events and industry connections.
  • Ensures positions are posted according to procedure, reviews resumes and applications, shares with hiring managers, coordinates advertising with the media and recruiting partners.
  • Be active and maintain a knowledge of college and university events including job fairs, internships and CO-OP opportunities.
  • Recruits, interviews, and facilitates the hiring of qualified applicants for open positions; collaborates with managers to understand skills and competencies required for openings.
  • Utilize applicant tracking system and other recruitment tools to streamline processes and maintain accurate records.
  • Collaborate with Human Resources Manager to develop effective recruitment strategies, policies and procedures. 
  • Serves as an ambassador of the organization and helps to build MCE’s brand as a sought-out employer. Negotiate and extend job offers to successful candidates.

  • Conducts or acquires background checks and employee eligibility verifications.
  • Plan and conduct new employee orientations.
  • Manages summer internship program.
  • Maintain and develop job descriptions with managers that are accurate and up to date to establish appropriate team member performance expectations.
  • Stay informed about industry trends, market conditions and best practices in recruitment by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, benchmarking state-of-the-art practices; participating in professional societies.

Requirements

Education and Experience

  • Bachelors in Human Resources, Business Administration or related field is preferred.
  • Five plus years recruiting experience preferably in a professional services environment.

  • Able to manage and protect confidential information in a professional manner. 
  • Effective oral and written communication and presentation skills are essential, as are interpersonal skills. 
  • Active listening skills with the ability to understand clearly and listen empathetically. 
  • Strong understanding of the recruitment process and employment laws. 
  • Sound judgement and decision-making skills. 
  • Team player with ability to work across all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to build and maintain relationships with candidates and hiring managers.
  • The ability to gather and analyze statistical data and generate reports and to plan, coordinate and administer administrative systems and processes is necessary. 
  • The ability to work with frequent, established deadlines is required. 
  • Organizational and analytical skills are required. 
  • The ability to develop, plan, and implement short- and long-range goals is required.

Software Knowledge

  • Microsoft Office Suite of products
  • Paylocity ATS software preferred
