As our Talent Acquisition Specialist, you will play a key role to strengthen the organization by adding the best available people to our staff. We’re seeking a talent acquisition specialist to help us source, identify, screen, and hire candidates for various roles in the company. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication and organizational skills, two or three years of experience in talent acquisition, proficiency with applicant tracking systems, and an ability to devise sourcing strategies for potential applicants. This role requires excellent interpersonal skills for working closely with others across various departments.You will report to the Human Resources Manager and support Roots’ sister organization, Canopy Mental Health & Consulting.

Start Date: As soon as possible

Location: Minneapolis, MN; Hybrid with in-office requirements

Hiring Salary Range: $55,000-$65,000 Starting salary will depend on your skills and demonstrated readiness for the role.

Hours/Day: Monday-Friday, 40+ hours a week – including evenings, and weekends when necessary. (Most work falls roughly between the hours of 9am-5pm)

Essential Job Functions

1. Recruitment Strategy

  • Develop sourcing strategies to attract a candidate pool that meets the needs of the business. Activities include– but are not limited to – collaborating on marketing campaigns, direct sourcing candidates, attending career fairs, building and fostering university relations, and developing relationships with professional organizations.
  • Enhance the organization's employer brand by promoting a positive candidate experience and effectively communicating Canopy’s values, culture, and opportunities.
  • Analyze data to develop, implement, and monitor processes, tools, and technologies to enhance efficiency, candidate quality, and overall effectiveness of talent acquisition efforts.

2. Full Cycle Recruitment

  • Full life cycle recruiting including – but not limited to – the input and initiation of requisitions, review and interview candidates, manage candidate progression through the offer and hire process, and serve as the point of contact to candidates through their start date.
  • Use a variety of sourcing methods, including database mining, internet/web searches, direct sourcing, social media, industry groups, functional groups, networks, and employee referrals to create a pipeline of qualified passive candidates.
  • Maintain active candidate pipeline in the applicant tracking system (ATS), and a passive pipeline in our sourcing technologies (such as LinkedIn, Indeed, Career Builder), ensuring data integrity and accuracy across all platforms
  • Leverage technology, tools and internal and external best practices to optimize processes and performance.

3. Business Connectivity

  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with hiring managers to gain in-depth knowledge of applicable jobs, the business, and its recruitment needs.
  • Provide exemplary customer service to both internal and external customers including candidates, HR, and business leaders.
  • Consistent and thorough communication with hiring managers on status of requisitions, candidate quality and candidate pipeline.
  • Provide guidance on industry best practices and market trends to attract and secure high-quality candidates.
  • Comply with all applicable Federal, State and local laws and regulations.

Requirements

  • 2 – 4 years of talent acquisition, recruiting or human resources experience.
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality and discretion.
  • Knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations.
  • Skilled with the Google Suite (Sheets, Docs, Gmail, Meet, Chat).
  • Effective and consistent communicator - both oral and written.
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize and coordinate multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong project management skills with an excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Experience with Applicant Tracking Systems management.
  • PHR or SHRM-CP certification is a plus.
