JOB SUMMARY

The Senior Talent Management & Development Consultant will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our workforce by designing and executing talent strategies that align with the University of St. Thomas goals.

In this role, the Senior Talent Management & Development Consultant will be responsible for developing tools to support our Talent Management and Learning and Development initiatives. This role works collaboratively with stakeholders across campus to promote talent management and development, including Academic Affairs and Student Affairs. The Senior Talent Management & Development Consultant will partner with human resources business partners and leaders to implement systems that support our university goals and objectives.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Performance Management and Talent Assessment:
    • Creating the strategy, design and implementation of an annual performance management cycle to include annual performance reviews, goal setting, mid-year reviews, talent assessment, succession planning and a 360-degree feedback process.
  • Learning & Development:
    • Conduct regular assessments and analysis to identify skill gaps, development needs, and succession planning requirements within the university.
    • Develop and deliver leadership development programs to enhance the skills and knowledge of university leaders.  
    • Design and implement emerging leader development programs to nurture and prepare high-potential employees for leadership roles.
    • Implement and market tools for employees to create individual development plans and career progression paths.
    • Develop and maintain key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the effectiveness and impact of talent development programs.
    • Collaborate with leaders on university mandatory training compliance. 
    • Responsible for Learning Management System administration and management.
  • Employee Engagement
    • Develop, implement, and manage employee engagement programs (annual employee recognition event, wellness week) and activities to boost morale and create a sense of community within the university.
    • Create employee engagement strategy, including design and administration of surveys to gather feedback and suggestions. Analyze data to identify areas for improvement and create action plans to address issues raised.
  • New Employee Onboarding
    • Administer onboarding processes to ensure seamless integration of new hires into the organization to include new employee orientation and facilitation of new hire celebrations.

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development, Business Administration, or a related field and five years of relevant experience

  • Previous Experience developing and deploying talent management programs focusing on performance management, talent development, talent reviews, and succession planning.

  • Prior demonstrated experience in developing, delivering, and evaluating training programs or events.

  • Strong project management skills with the ability to oversee multiple initiatives simultaneously.

  • Excellent leadership, communication and presentation skills required.

  • Ability to collaborate and build relationships at all levels of the University.

  • Proficiency in talent management and learning management systems and e-learning tools.

  • Change Management experience preferred.
