Our Human Resources Team has invested significantly in the space of Talent Management building the foundation, infrastructure, resources, tools, to help lead us into the future. That combined with an integrated development system that is aligned with Mortenson’s culture and strategy, has Mortenson well positioned for success. We now are ready to invest in a leader to help take charge talent management practices, and help inspire new ways of thinking about talent to enable future success. This will help ensure Mortenson is able to navigate the increasing demands of the business, customers, and team members..
The team is currently seeking a Senior Manager - Talent Management to ensure sustained success and ability to maximize the return on investment to date. The next phase of talent management has us better leveraging the data, analytics, and technology to enable a high touch, but modern talent system. .As the Senior Manager - Talent Management you will lead core talent management activities, such as talent reviews, succession planning, workforce planning, performance management, assessment, team member engagement and the use of the appropriate talent management, tools and practices to build leaders, teams and the organization. A self-starter with the initiative and ability to work both autonomously and within a collaborative and matrixed environment is key. This position will report to the Vice President of Talent Development and as part of that team, will work very closely with the Learning, Organizational Development (Leader and Culture Development), Total Rewards, as well as our HR Talent Partners who support our functions and businesses.
What will you be doing?
- Team with HR Talent Partners and Business leaders, to manage the company talent management strategy, enabling the Mortenson business today and building for our future.
- Execute on the full talent management lifecycle including the creation and monitoring of work-plans, delivery process, communications, measurement and outcomes.
- Support talent programs and processes including performance management, career development and assessments. Develop performance and development goal strategy that is scalable and supports the development needs of the business
- Enhance and manage the talent review and succession planning strategies and processes throughout the company
- Develop and implement strategies on elevating the engagement of our workforce, which positively impacts team member retention.
- Build upon the environment of equal employment opportunity, diversity and competitive advantage in support of the company’s diversity, equity and inclusion strategic plan.
- Collect, analyze and maintain data gathered (i.e. performance management, succession planning, workforce retention) to inform talent decisions and targeted leadership development programming, enabling the workforce towards future success while addressing current organizational gaps.
- Facilitate seamless partnership and collaboration with HR Talent Partners on the delivery of Talent Management program outcomes
- Create a framework for career pathing and implement meaningful solutions through robust talent programs to activate the internal talent marketplace, fostering internal mobility, supporting key talent needs and succession plans for key positions in the organization
- Consult heavily with HR business partners, leaders and talent team to ensure talent programs align with group and function business needs.
- Communicate effectively with team members, customers and stakeholders, both verbally and in writing.

Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Human Resources Development, Psychology, Organizational Development, Organizational Change Management or related field. Master’s degree preferred.
- Minimum of ten years of demonstrated experience in talent management.
Basic Requirements:
- Proficient with Microsoft Office, including Teams, as well as experience with the talent management tools in most HCM software (i.e.Oracle, Workday, etc.). Solid technical aptitude with the ability to learn new software quickly
- Strong work and personal ethics, planning and organizational skills, & attention to detail
- Ability to think critically and work independently, when necessary
- Well-developed listening, communication and decision-making skills with the ability to clearly articulate messages to a variety of audiences
- Ability to manage a variety of projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment, while remaining flexible and adapting to shifting business needs
