Knutson Construction is excited to add a Talent Acquisition Manager to our team. This role will be responsible for implementing creative, full cycle recruiting strategies and processes to deliver a continuous pipeline of diverse new talent to support Knutson’s growth. If you have a natural ability to partner with leaders to assess current and future talent needs, find fulfillment in delivering an excellent candidate experience, and gain energy in playing an active, hands-on role in growing candidate pipelines to support business growth, you will be a strong match for this opportunity.

The key job responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Collaborate with leaders, hiring managers and human resources team on defining roles, forecasting talent needs and deploying sourcing strategies.
  • Research and implement new sources for active and passive candidate recruiting.
  • Continuously develop networks & partnerships to actively build diverse candidate pipelines.
  • Continuously evolve and refine our talent acquisition approach to ensure positive candidate experience outcomes and to align with our employer brand.
  • Develop and implement Early Talent programs that successfully promote and deliver interns and new college graduates.
  • Manage all job openings using various methods, including job boards, campus connections, social networks, community boards and staffing partners.
  • Represent Knutson at recruiting events (i.e., college career fairs) to effectively highlight Knutson’s people-focused culture and broad career opportunities.
  • Present and/or coordinate presentations at colleges, attend student group meetings, and increase student and faculty awareness of Knutson and available career opportunities.
  • Communicate with managers and employees regularly to promote Knutson’s referral program and opportunities for employees to be actively involved in our Campus Champs and Intern Connect programs.
  • Effectively deliver a positive candidate experience through clear and timely communications.
  • Conduct regular feedback meetings with managers to achieve efficient and effective hiring outcomes.  
  • Maintain our applicant tracking system, recruiting reports and other staffing administration functions as needed.
  • Manage key external sourcing relationships, vendor selection, negotiation and contract terms.
  • Collaborate with our HR team in support of various initiatives and programs.
  • Drive continuous improvement and training of talent acquisition practices ensuring compliance with all applicable laws.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
  • Position may occasionally require work responsibilities outside of normal business hours (i.e., attending career fairs, presentations, networking events, etc.).

Desired Education and Experience:

  • 5+ years of experience in leading successful talent acquisition results (experience in construction or related industries strongly preferred).
  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, human resources management, organizational development (or related field of study) preferred but not required.  

Additional Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

    • Strong understanding of staffing principles, laws, and procedures.
    • Demonstrated knowledge of various recruiting techniques and methods to create a broad reach for qualified candidates, including strong experience in digital/online recruiting methods.
    • Ability to effectively communicate Knutson's purpose, people-focused culture, and values.
    • Excellent oral/written communication, marketing, presentation, interviewing, and interpersonal skills.
    • Skilled in computer and systems, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook), internet-based tools & systems, social media, and Applicant Tracking Systems. 
    • Strong customer service, negotiation skills and ability to interact with employees at all levels throughout the company.
    • Self-starter with excellent time management, multi-tasking, and organizational skills.
    • Strong work ethic and sense of integrity, and trustworthiness.
    • Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality.
    • Creative in brainstorming and proposing new ideas and solutions.
    • Willing and able to travel occasionally, including overnight travel.
