The Talent Acquisition Manager is part of our leadership team at Vertin. This role will design and ensure the implementation of high-quality, end-to-end talent acquisition practices and processes to meet all staffing needs across the company. Build and enhance strong relationships with Industry partners to highlight Vertin as the employer of choice. The Talent Acquisition Manager will consult and mentor hiring managers on overarching talent acquisition approach that provides value to Vertin and proactively identifies future staffing needs which requires a full and dynamic understanding of all segments of the business.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Proactive Recruiting
- Partner with HR Manager, VP of Administration, and leadership to update and maintain a Talent Acquisition strategy, program, processes, and multi-year roadmap.
- Responsible for implementing new talent acquisition strategies and processes to proactively build and maintain a quality talent pipeline by sourcing passive and active candidates to align with all open positions.
- Analyze current and future organizational workforce needs and implement plans to ensure quality staffing continuity.
- Will understand external labor market conditions and establish networks to build relationships with candidates, agencies, schools, and associations and attract diverse quality talent.
- Analyze metrics and monitor effectiveness of talent acquisition program and processes; implementing new Talent acquisition KPI’s and reporting as one see’s fit.
- Responsible for leading employment branding initiatives and aligning branding strategy with all recruitment efforts internally and externally to attract new talent into the organization.
- Maintain a consistent database of qualified funeral directors in our markets and cultivate relationships prior to open positions. In partnership with operations, build and maintain a pipeline and database of talent, representing Vertin at networking events and build Vertin’s LinkedIn and social media networks.
- Point of contact for all partner colleges and universities with willingness to travel for networking events, presentations, etc.
- Set strategy and plan for attendance at appropriate local/state/national industry events, job fairs etc.
- Coordinate all Vertin college activities with Operations leadership and maintain annual calendar of events.
- Maintain up-to-date talent acquisition materials in partnership with Marketing.
Active Recruiting
- Perform sourcing to fill open positions and anticipate future needs.
- Plan and conduct recruitment and selection processes (review of resumes, phone screening, interviews, and scheduling).
- Take steps to ensure positive candidate experience and care.
- Assist in employee retention and development programs.
- Coordinate and maintain all internal and external advertising personally or with Marketing.
- Assist hiring managers with review of resumes, phone screening, and scheduling.
- Provide active hiring managers with weekly status updates.
- Provide ongoing and up-to-date communication with hiring managers.
- Assist hiring managers with job requisitions, coaching hiring managers on process, partner with interviewers.
- Communicate with all applicants on a timely basis and throughout the process.
- Coach hiring managers on interview agendas, providing a welcoming environment etc.
Onboarding
- Point of contact for all new FT new hires, ensuring all paperwork and data entry is complete and new hire’s questions are answered and onboarding plan received.
- Mentor hiring managers to ensure a great onboarding experience.
In General
- Management of JazzHR, internal applicant tracking system.
- Maintains knowledge of trends and best practices, and new technologies in talent acquisition/recruiting
- Partner with HR Manager to ensure HR policies and procedures are followed, and regulatory requirements are met.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, CERTIFICATIONS
A minimum of five years of talent acquisition and recruiting experience. Previous experience sourcing and building a talent pipeline. Bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred.

WORK CONDITIONS, TRAVEL, AND ENVIRONMENT
This position will spend time in an office setting with moderate noise while sitting at a computer for extended periods of time. This position may be required to travel to locations, Vertin meetings, and conferences approximately 25% of the time. The position will work normal business hours however may need to work early mornings, evening and/or weekends to ensure goals are met.
