The Linguist Recruitment and Management Specialist supports full-cycle recruiting with a focus on interpreters and other linguists. The Linguist Recruitment and Management Specialist will partner cross-functionally to identify linguist needs, work with the recruiting team to develop and implement innovative recruiting strategies to fulfill needs, use social media and other platforms to recruit qualified linguists, maintain manage the pool of local linguists, and act as their main point of contact during the recruitment process and throughout their work for the company.
Duties and Responsibilities: All of the below functions are essential for this position:
- Partners with operations, sales, and senior management teams to identify linguist needs for interpretation services; develops job specifications and duties, qualifications, and skills requirements
- Researches, develops, and implements innovative and effective recruiting strategies to generate a high quality and diverse linguist database
- Actively uses social media, job boards, internet sourcing, and other means to source linguists
- Supports full life cycle recruiting process including sourcing, reviewing resumes, screening, and identifying linguists that meet requirements; coordinates any meetings, performs references checks, administers testing or assessment, extends offers, etc.
- Assists with onboarding process and orientation of newly-recruited linguists (filing paperwork, welcoming interpreters to the team, issuing badges, etc.)
- Serves as main point of contact to interpreters onsite and provides assistance with issues and questions as necessary
- Maintains and updates interpreter database, ensures that interpreters' information, status, credentials, training, and health requirements remain up-to-date, and assists with renewal processes or updates as necessary
- Serves as liaison between linguists and internal teams
- Represents the company at networking events, job fairs, and community events; travels to various locations for recruiting efforts if needed
- Maintains and updates applicant tracking system and linguist database
- Attends meetings to discuss updates and/or changes in contracts and processing
- Other related duties as assigned
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Excellent sourcing, interviewing, and negotiation skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to effectively communicate with management team
- Strong attention to detail and time management skills
- Strong networking and relationship building skills
- Highly proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, Applicant Tracking Systems, and virtual meeting platforms
- Ability to work effectively independently and as part of a team
- Ability to produce creative and proactive recruiting solutions
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to travel locally and work flexible hours as needed
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree preferred
- 2-3 years of proven success in full life cycle recruiting; experience with task order staffing
- 2-3 years of language services industry experience
- Proven ability to achieve recruiting goals
- Demonstrated success in a result-oriented and metrics-driven environment
- Working knowledge of recruiting methodologies, strategies, and best practices
- Bilingual language skills/interests are a plus
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Use of telephone with or without a headset
- Frequently required to stand, talk, and hear
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus
