The University of Minnesota seeks a driven individual to serve as a Recruiter focused on Information Technology positions. This position will be a member of the Office of Information Technology (OIT) Human Resources team and will also be integrated into the system-wide Talent Acquisition team within the Office of Human Resources (OHR). You’ll play an active role recruiting talent and provide support and guidance to hiring managers on the selection process. You’ll work to further establish and represent Human Resources as a trusted and valued partner in meeting talent needs.

In this role you will perform the full hiring life cycle starting with posting and advertising positions, monitoring searches throughout the process, scheduling interviews, keeping leadership informed, and taking proactive action to actively source and recruit talent.  Advancing our commitment to diversity and inclusion is a critical part of this role, you’ll be responsible for implementing diversity and inclusion strategies into each search.

Responsibilities:

Recruitment & Talent Acquisition

  • Utilize innovative candidate sourcing methods, including recruiting passive candidates, as well as traditional sourcing approaches to attract top talent and support the University’s commitment to equity and diversity
  • Identify prospective applicants to establish, build and maintain professional relationships as they move from prospective stage through the selection process.
  • Collect and interpret recruitment and applicant engagement data to enhance recruitment efforts; analyze trends in the marketplace.
  • Serve as point of contact for prospective candidates.

Selection and Hiring Process

  • Schedule interviews and keep candidates continually informed with quality communications throughout the hiring process.
  • Provide administrative support for the hiring process, interviews, and other hiring and selection-related aspects.
  • Act as a point of contact for new hires and lead HR onboarding meetings around payroll, benefits, and other important information.
  • Screen applicants for minimum qualifications, responds to applicant questions based on the employee groups.
  • Maintain records of hiring activity and ensure leadership is informed of position statuses.
  • Manage applicant tracking system, including creating job postings and updating status of candidates.
  • Ensure that hiring and recruiting processes are documented accurately.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications (please document on resume):

  • Level 1 - BA/BS degree in Human Resources, Business or other related field OR a combination of related education and/or work experience to equal four years.
  • Level 2 - BA/BS degree in Human Resources, Business or other related field OR a combination of related education and/or work experience to equal six years.
