JOB FAMILY OVERVIEW:

Accountable for the development, implementation, and execution of NatureWorks recruiting programs and processes to enable people competencies and capacity are ready in time to meet company strategies. Identify and hire the people we need; engage the people we have; and build a culture that defines and differentiates NatureWorks. Interacts with customers and/or vendors and performs data management, data research and analysis; regulatory compliance; talent and resource management.

POSITION PURPOSE:

The Talent Acquisition Manager is responsible for leading and managing all aspects of the recruiting function by partnering with stakeholders to develop and implement an effective sourcing, screening, selection, and onboarding processes. The position will provide leadership around recruiting and onboarding practices, aligning Human Resources processes and systems with business and location strategies. This position will be responsible for understanding position requirements to fill positions with quality candidates and assess their suitability to the company. This “hands-on” role works collaboratively with the Human Resources team members to complete special projects relative to the strategic planning and administration of NatureWorks’ human resource needs. Will manage external resources and internal recruiting roles to ensure positive end to end new hire experience.
Responsible for supporting the Human Resources team in achieving the mission, vision and goals of the organization.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:

Talent Acquisition (60%)

  • Enhances and executes recruiting and onboarding program to attract and onboard top talent.
  • In partnership with others, supports the NatureWorks workforce planning process and strategy.
  • Utilizes strong full cycle recruiting skills to source active and passive candidates. Includes posting roles, sourcing candidates, interviewing candidates, and managing the selection process with hiring manager.
  • Assists with brand building to communicate company’s unique attributes and benefits associated with the company culture.
  • Maintain and develop partnerships with job boards, agencies and networking organizations aligned with the annual recruitment strategy. Research new partnerships, websites and other avenues to stay current with recruiting market trends and to increase applicant flow.
  • Partners with hiring managers for intake session to set process expectations, develop ideal candidate profile and weekly update on candidates in pipeline.
  • Ensures consistent recruiting efforts with hiring manager and applicant tracking tool in UKG for internal and external candidate experience.
  • Updates and maintains company career site.
  • Work with VP on identifying areas of bias and drive process improvement to meet business and diversity objectives.
  • Building and providing diverse candidate pools to hiring managers and teams.
  • Manage third party recruiter relationships. Manage third party recruiter setup and billing processes to ensure a smooth interview and hiring process for selected candidates.
  • Educate hiring teams on mitigating bias and proper interview procedures.
  • Drives offer process by putting together competitive offer packages and managing negotiations with candidates.
  • Maintains job description library on all roles to ensure role clarity and for use in goal setting and employee development. Partners with leadership to create new job descriptions for adds to department.
  • Develop and maintain role specific interview guides that align with the skill set of the position and company mission, vision and values.
  • Coordinate and drive annual internship program with internal partners. Set up career fairs at colleges and act as point of contact for all students throughout the process. Lead hiring process regarding strategy, interview process and gather lessons learned for next cycle of student recruitment.
  • Fosters internal mobility for employees applying to roles, providing opportunities for development and retention.

Employment Branding (20%)

  • Lead employment branding initiatives in partnership with Marketing Department.
  • Network through industry contacts, association membership, trade groups, social media, school/universities, and employees to increase applicants and NatureWorks presence in the market.
  • Assist with the research and development of new recruitment processes while enhancing existing ones to ensure a positive candidate experience.

Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS) Reporting/Transactions (20%)

  • Communicate with candidates through UKG in a timely manner to promote a positive candidate experience and build ongoing relationships with all candidates.
  • Drive continuous improvement efforts in UKG to ensure accurate and timely communications for both hiring managers and candidates.
  • Manages the Recruiting & Onboarding Dashboard to ensure that stakeholders are kept up to date on upcoming new hires.
  • Gathers monthly data from HRIS to report on monthly and quarterly updates as to recruiting and onboarding metrics.
  • Ensures that all jobs posted within HRIS are formatted correctly and communicated clearly to gather a wide and diverse candidate slate.
  • Communicates new hire HRIS data with payroll to ensure a smooth and effective start.
  • Produces, maintains and distributes accurate recruiting information and statistics including applicant data, annual number of hires and recruiting metrics utilizing BI reporting.
  • Seeks to improve the connection between HRIS and recruiting platforms to gather needed data for the interview, selection and hiring processes; automating where possible

Pre-Employment Process (20%)

  • Oversee the pre-employment process to ensure compliance with regulations and recordkeeping requirements.
  • Maintain vendor relationship with background check provider, relocation provider, etc.
  • Maintain relocation policies and partner with vendor to administer program.
  • Conducts reference checks on new hires and communicates them with hiring manager.

Onboarding (20%)

  • Manages the Recruiting & Onboarding Dashboard to ensure that stakeholders are kept up to date on upcoming new hires.
  • Acts as point of contact for all temporary contractors to ensure that they are onboarded successfully.

Environmental, Health & Safety Leadership (5%)

  • Operates safely within NatureWorks policies, procedures and governmental regulations and fully participates in and champions NatureWorks Environmental, Health & Safety (EH&S) Programs.
  • Ensures the EH&S Programs are being followed and provides a safe working environment to our employees and customers. 
  • Accountable for building a strong safety culture and actively pursues it on a daily basis; identifies unsafe behaviors and conditions and intervenes to mitigate incidents.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education and Experience Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree from four-year college or university in Human Resources, Business or related field.
  • 5-7 years of proven full cycle recruiting experience that partners with hiring managers and internal business partners.
  • 1-3 years managing a talent acquisition function within an organization.
  • 2-5 years experience managing a team within the talent acquisition and/or HR function.
  • Experience recruiting R&D and engineering positions.

WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • This position works in an office environment.
  • Hours and timing required to complete job and support candidates.
  • Requires use of office equipment such as computers, telephones, and copiers.
  • Required sitting and computer-related activities for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to occasionally lift up to 20 pounds; will follow Company safety and ergonomic guideless to avoid injury.
