About the Role

Suma is seeking a passionate Head of Talent to own the growth of our fantastic team. As an executive partner, you’ll strategically and thoughtfully contribute to decisions about organizational structure and priority hires while owning and developing the Suma talent brand. You’ll be responsible for the end-to-end recruiting process of a diverse set of mission-critical roles, including niche technical ones. You’ll build the recruiting process and define the candidate experience in support of our values. We’re looking to triple our team size in the next 12 months and are excited to find a leader inspired by that challenge.


  • Support thoughtful development of organizational structure and hiring prioritization
  • Partner with team leads to understand business objectives and identify recruiting strategies to address them
  • Build and manage the end-to-end recruiting process for a diverse set of roles, including sourcing, resume screening, interviewing, soliciting feedback, managing candidates, and coordinating offers; developing best practices and training the team where necessary
  • Source active and passive candidates through resourceful and creative sourcing methods
  • Create and coordinate all components of a thoughtful interview process including job descriptions, interview plans, and offers
  • Advise on compensation recommendations and strategy, handling any relevant negotiation with candidates as necessary
  • Serve as the first and primary point of contact for engaged candidates: guide them through our interview process, provide feedback and facilitate an incredible candidate experience every step of the way
  • Coordinate new employee onboarding, introduction to team and relevant ways to get them up to speed efficiently and effectively in tandem with their manager
  • Maintain an organized ATS (we use Greenhouse) including interview process hygiene, interview feedback, candidate process time and any relevant reporting


  • 7+ years of full-cycle recruiting experience in a high volume environment, preferably in house
  • Demonstrated success in actively and passively connecting with, evaluating and converting exceptional talent
  • Skilled in outbound sourcing of talent, identifying backgrounds and managing outreach
  • Experience with recruiting tools and Greenhouse, specifically an understanding of handling set-up of new roles, addition of new users and effective communication processes
  • Comfort with developing in-depth reports and leveraging data to improve processes
  • Obsessed with the experience of the candidate and making sure it is respectful, organized, disciplined and efficient
  • A commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion and awareness of and comfort with strategies to support this value of our business
  • Excellent communication skills and attention to detail lending itself to a seamless and thoughtful process for the candidate as well as the internal team
  • A self starter comfortable in fast paced environments
  • A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
