The Executive Recruiter role is responsible for providing overall direction and strategic approach to Ceridian’s HCM planning/recruiting function, consult and partner with business leaders to determine recruitment needs, develop and implement recruitment and staffing strategies and programs, and manage the executive recruiting process. The Executive Recruiter will conduct in-depth candidate and company research/target lists using online tools/resources as well as cold calling into companies, identify and pitch opportunities to prospective candidates by phone, conduct phone/skype interviews and/or qualifying calls with potential candidates and develop search related materials including candidate evaluations, reference reports, target lists and various client documentation. This individual will partner closely with senior executives to ensure a high caliber of talent is explored for all of Ceridian’s executive needs.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Implement and manage workforce planning/recruitment strategies and provide recruitment solutions across Ceridian businesses that need a seasoned search professional to recruit top talent at the executive and leadership level

  • Using a thoughtful and systematic approach to attract the best talent in the industry, research and identify appropriate prospective candidates and sources from relevant organizations and create detailed spreadsheets/target lists for every search assignment

  • Contact and capture the attention of gainfully employed prospective candidates through a creative and informative sales technique

  • Assess and qualify potential candidates against the search criteria to ensure they possess the right behaviors, experience and cultural fit

  • Prepare candidate evaluations once the candidate has been assessed and qualified

  • Monitor industry and knowledge management trends while keeping up to date with new information, tools and services

  • Lead and manage the efforts of our external partner executive search firms to ensure the quality and caliber of our executive hiring is maintained; drive accountability across these firms to deliver on our hiring KPIs and integrity

  • Act as main strategic staffing partner for Senior Executive recruitment

  • Create training and development programs and sharing best-in-class practices and unique recruiting techniques for corporate recruitment departments that want to emulate the executive search model in house

  • Maintain data and metric systems that support candidate tracking, managing staffing performance, and link to compliance requirements

  • Develop, implement and manage sourcing strategies that can be called upon based on current and projected needs, including internet, third-party recruiters and other approaches

  • Consult with business leaders to insure incorporation of diverse workforce strategies into business and human resource planning

  • Serve as a central resource for business and HR professionals in all recruitment related activities related to executive hiring

  • Responsible for driving and managing recruiting programs; relocation, employee referral program, new hire assessments, and other staffing related policies and processes

  • Manages vendor relationships associated with executive sourcing, recruitment, and other staffing-related processes


  • Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, human resources or related field; HR certification a plus

  • 10 plus years of talent acquisition experience with mix of agency and in house corporate work implementing effective recruitment and selection programs; experience recruiting within the technology sector a strong asset

  • Resourceful and a creative thinker with a strong ability to get things done at a high level

  • Exemplary discipline and project management skills with the ability to work well independently

  • Tenacious, inquisitive and a problem solver; a sleuth who can overcome obstacles and find the right solutions 

  • Proficient working with online recruitment tools, database search engines, creating Boolean links, manipulating data on the internet and sorting through appropriate online resources

  • Outstanding judgement with flawless attention to detail

  • Effective time management skills; able to meet strict deadlines from demanding clients with the flexibility to adapt to changing priorities

  • A true self-starter who is proactive, energetic, fast-paced with a sense of urgency

  • Customer service focused and a relationship builder

  • Strong results orientation within a partnership HR model

  • A team player who can build and develop a strong group of HR professionals

  • Strong communications skills, both verbal and written

  • Thorough knowledge and understanding of HR practices and employment law

  • Demonstrated and proven leadership competencies; ability to teach, develop and coach others in the talent acquisition team
