working within talent acquisition, your mission will be to attract new talent and launch people in roles that let them shine. our recruiters accompany candidates along the new team member journey, from the very first engagement to day one on the job, and beyond. as a member of the talent acquisition team, you’ll act as a brand ambassador in the employer marketplace, telling the story of target as a top choice in a sea of other places to work, and showing candidates what it’s really like to work somewhere they already love.
as a senior recruiter supporting campus recruitment, you’ll create and execute strategies to place top talent and build strong partnerships with your client teams and support partners. through networking and relationship building you will be creating talent pipelines and advancing target’s reputation. in this role, you will help to advance our diversity and inclusion efforts beginning with our key hbcu institutions across priority profiles at corporate and in our field leadership roles in stores and distribution centers. we’ll support you along the way with robust onboarding, as well as personal and career development, to help you grow as a strong senior recruiter. the exciting part of retail? it’s always changing!

accelerate diversity and inclusion focuses starting with key hbcu institutions, build intentional and consistent relationships with key external partners and informing enterprise target on establishing and optimizing our hbcu partnerships to support future talent for target and the workforce at large.
build trust and consistency with key school partners (school leaders, career centers, faculty) to understand and create shared strategies and priorities for target + hbcus.
develop a school relationship/engagement model strategy and identify customizations needed by school/profiles in partnership with campus recruiter(s) who will own the full cycle candidate process.
effectively promote career opportunities by demonstrating a passion for target, the culture and community.
share accountability to expense management.
initiate and drive special projects to elevate the recruiting process and implement creative methods to find top-tier candidates.
benchmark externally to inform and influence our strategy and results.

four-year degree or equivalent experience
strong interpersonal skills, influence, and proven success at building credibility and trust with leadership, partners (internal and external) and talent
knowledge and experience working in college/university organization to develop joint partnership strategies and goals
high level of initiative and motivation to identify priorities, organize projects + people to achieve results
excellent verbal and written communication skills
preferred: 1-3 years recruitment experience, hbcu alumni or experience in hbcu partnership, experience in navigating college/university organizations and relationships
