The Director of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI), is responsible for developing and implementing a comprehensive DEI strategy for Be The Match. They will build DEI engagement within the organization, aligning our DEI programs and initiatives to our mission. In partnership with our inclusion council, this role will focus on supporting practices that accelerate diversity in leadership, support a culture of inclusion at all levels, and build relationships with community organizations and experts who can magnify our BTM inclusion and democratization goals.


  • Develop and execute a comprehensive DEI strategy for BTM
  • Serve as the DEI subject matter expert, consulting with the DEI advisory group, inclusion counsel, senior leadership and HR to understand and identify areas of opportunity to deliver on our strategies
  • Establish a talent strategy to increase diverse leadership and attract diverse talent in partnership with the Human Resources Talent Acquisition team

  • Develop and implement DEI focused programs, resource groups and other initiatives to support a diverse and inclusive culture

  • Oversee the Employee Resource Groups (ERG), providing guidance and coaching on ERG charters, establishing budgets, recruitment/marketing to employees, etc.

  • Develop and implement DEI training and awareness programs, ensuring employee compliance with annual training requirements

  • Establish metrics and monitor inequalities in the workplace that have an impact on our mission, raising awareness and ensuring internal practices support and accelerate change

  • Leverage data and insights to influence and facilitate organizational change to foster DEI
  • Actively utilize the affirmative action plan

  • Collaborate with department leaders across BTM to integrate DEI into current department strategies
  • Coordinate BTM community DEI activities



Knowledge of:

  • DEI practices and trends

Education and/or Experience:

  • Bachelors degree in a business related field
  • 8 + years of strategy development and/or work in diversity, equity and inclusion

  • 4 + years in a leadership role

  • Proven track record of implementing strategic initiatives, establishing metrics and measuring progress

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: (Additional qualifications that may make a person even more effective in the role, but are not required for consideration)

  • Master’s degree
  • Change management training and experience
