Position Description

Position Summary:

The Talent Acquisition Specialist is responsible for attracting, sourcing and recruiting talent for the ACIST organization. This role will create multiple pipelines of active and passive candidates with various skill sets and experiences, drive and facilitate the internship and co-op program and leverage employer branding to build awareness and engagement to attract talent to our organization.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

Sourcing & Recruiting

  • Build and maintain pipelines of active and passive candidates with various skill sets and experiences
  • Collaborate with the Talent Acquisition team and Hiring Managers to understand critical competencies, technical skills and key requirements for current and future talent needs
  • Engage and recruit talent through various channels; include networking, social media, cold calling, job boards and posting sites, Applicant Tracking System, referral program and user groups
  • Review profiles, resumes and credentials for appropriate skills, experience and knowledge in relation to position requirements and business needs
  • Proactively provide feedback and recommendations on potential talent in support of recruiting efforts for open positions and future talent needs
  • Conduct phone screens to provide candidates with information about the ACIST organization and culture while assessing skill set, experience level and career aspirations
  • Foster a positive candidate experience through professional communication and periodic correspondence while actively networking and establishing strong relationships with a diverse pool of talent
  • In partnership with HR Managers, coordinate and manage temporary staff process
  • Maintain accurate documentation within the Applicant Tracking System
  • Opportunity to manage full life cycle recruitment, including source, assess, and recruit candidates for a variety of positions

Internship & Co-op Program

  • Manage internship & co-op programming, including cross functional partnerships within ACIST to understand hiring needs and potential conversion to full time employment
  • ACIST ambassador and lead for college and university relationships, campus career fairs and events, interview planning and scheduling and managing ACIST correspondence with selected college and university partners
  • Oversite to scheduling on-site interviews, manage the selection process and generate offer letters
  • Update, maintain and communicate program timeline and calendar of events
  • Maintain database of hired co-op and internship talent and continued communication and outreach
  • HR point of contact for internship and co-op students, including new hire orientation, ACIST sponsored events and follow up after completion of tenure
  • Participate in planning and execution of program events while students are working at ACIST. This may include, educational panels, round table meetings, product fair and Executive Committee lunch, ACIST sponsored events and volunteer opportunities
  • Administer surveys and follow up correspondence with students. Gather and analyze data to make program recommendations and implement process and program improvements

Employer Branding/Social Media

  • Assist in employer branding efforts and establishing a recognizable “employer of choice” reputation for internal and external candidates
  • Leverage employer branding to build awareness and engagement through various channels including social media, ACIST events and campus partnerships
  • Develop and execute talent outreach campaigns to proactive source future talent
  • Partner with Marketing Communications team to develop content to be shared on social media channels
  • Post, monitor and drive social media related activities to engage ACIST employees and future talent

Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills & Abilities):


  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Business, Communications or related field
  • 3+ years recruiting and/or sourcing experience within a search firm or a corporate recruitment setting
  • Proven success sourcing talent through online recruiting and social media channels
  • Experience navigating an Applicant Tracking System
  • Strong organization, attention to detail and follow-up skills
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Programs – Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Strong interpersonal and analytical skills
  • Excellent communication (oral & written) and presentation skills
  • Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks and projects concurrently

  • Experience managing stakeholders at various levels – peers to executives
