Military - Veteran Recruiting Specialist

Key Role Description:

Collaborate with Veteran Programs Lead to develop and lead the effort to define, enhance and implement the Mili-Vet Recruiting strategy as it relates to identifying, attracting and hiring Mili-Vet talent into the organization. Responsible for meeting completion dates, interpreting and ensuring application of policies and procedures. Execute the day-to-day activities of the Military & Veteran programs. Position will be responsible for day-to-day recruiting execution.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the subject matter expert and primary point of contact for Mili-Vet focused candidates and business leaders

  • Develop, enhance and maintain relationships with current and new Military & Veteran organizations and partnerships

  • Be able to work effectively in a fast-paced, multi-tasking environment

  • Have strong strategic-thinking skills

  • Ability to be flexible with multiple priorities and demands

  • Demonstrate strong communication and organizational skills

  • Must be detailed oriented, self-motivated and willing to take the initiative to get things done

  • Identify and attend local and national Military & Veteran recruiting events where appropriate

  • Leverage recruiting expertise to influence business leaders to participate in programs, events, and champion our external relationships with Mili-Vet organizations

  • Partner with Campus and Experienced/PPMD Recruiting Managers and stakeholders across the organization in the execution of the Military & Veteran recruiting strategies & programs

  • Work closely with stakeholders to identify viable opportunities for Mili-Vet candidates that may or may not have directly related experiences

  • Analyze and present Military & Veteran recruiting statistics & program results to stakeholders

  • Serve as the Military & Veteran subject matter expert in the areas of competitive intelligence, campus and professional Military & Veteran events, target demographic landscape, etc.

  • Provide industry foresight by recommending and implementing best practices and innovative ideas to attract best quality Military & Veteran applicants

  • Educate recruiters and stakeholders on Military & Veteran trends, best practices and issues



  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Leadership Experience
  • Prior active duty military experience within one of the US Military Branches
  • 2+ years of post-military professional work experience (e.g. corporate, non-profit, government, entrepreneurial, etc.)
  • Working knowledge of the US Military standards, procedures and career
  • Advanced skills in various technologies (i.e, Microsoft Office, applicant tracking system)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Ability to translate military experiences into civilian careers
  • Experience job coaching military professionals in their transition to civilian careers
