Responsible for supporting business objectives through proactively sourcing, assessing, and recruiting top talent for U.S. Bancorp positions, with limited assistance from outside agencies. Identifies candidates using a variety of sources and techniques while knowing the best channels to find and reach candidates in diverse talent pools. Drives recruiting process in a timely and cost effective manner. Demonstrates a proven commitment to provide a diverse talent pool, a positive experience for the hiring manager and candidate, and displays behaviors and attitudes consistent with U.S. Bank Purpose and Core Values.
Conduct hiring strategy sessions: Conducts and actively leads and/or initiates a hiring strategy session with hiring manager to outline job requirements and develops and implements appropriate recruiting strategies aligned with open positions.
Source and identify potential new talent: Utilize different sourcing types to find candidates whose skillset aligns with the position while looking for potential long term talent for the bank. Sourcing types could include internal sites and/or external resources such as job boards, social networking, professional networks, etc. Also, conduct initial screening interviews, review resumes, provide hiring managers with top talent, discuss candidate salary expectations, and extend offers.
Project Participation: Take initiative by actively participating in team project(s) and at times; plans and manages those projects in order to ensure successful completion and delivery; proactively updates and enhances existing recruitment practices.
Articulate the Employee Value Proposition: Ability to articulate and describe our position as employer of choice; what we believe, who we are, what we do.
Build relationships and utilize influencing skills: Develop and maintain effective working relationships with hiring managers, recruiters, HR business partners, and as needed senior leaders and external organizations and contacts. Function as a liaison between assigned business line(s) and human resources to capitalize on company-wide recruitment initiatives, events, opportunities, and practices. Develop and enhance effective relationships with key resources for sourcing potential talent.
Compliance: Accountable for legal compliance in their assigned area of recruiting activity and ensuring U.S. Bank policies, guidelines and processes are followed throughout the hiring process. All candidates display sound business ethics and show consistency between principles, values and behaviors and ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state and local laws related to employment.
- Bachelor's degree, or equivalent work experience
- Five or more years of recruiting experience
- Advanced knowledge of talent acquisition processes including sourcing and selection of a broad, diverse population of applicants
- 3+ years technical recruiting experience
- Excellent customer service skills
- Strong project management skills
- Strong marketing and recruitment network skills
- Ability to review and understand data, trends and metrics
- Strong presentation, interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks/projects and deadlines simultaneously
- Intermediate computer skills, especially Microsoft Office applications and applicant tracking systems
