BA/BS degree in Human Resources or related fields with two (2) years of related professional experience; or a combination of related education and professional human resources work experience to total six (6) years.

Experience must include consulting, staffing, recruiting, data analysis, other HR specialist work and/or project management.

Selection Criteria:

High level of experience in a staffing, recruiting or sourcing function.

Experience working with diverse populations in searching for employment.

Strong analytical and problem solving skills.

Experience gathering and analyzing data.

Strong experience using LinkedIn and other recruitment and sourcing tools, excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Exceptional customer service skills.

Project management experience.

About the Job

Position Summary

Talent Acquisition, within the Office of Human Resources (OHR) is responsible for all employment related services.  The Talent Acquisition Specialist position is a second level professional position reporting to the Director of Talent Recruitment. The primary responsibilities include advising designated units with hiring policies and procedures, job opening and candidate management, unit hiring data management and assisting in building highly qualified, diverse candidate pools for University positions.

Classification: HR Pro 2 - TA (8182TA) Position Management # - 200316

Reports to: Director of Talent Recruitment

Salary Range: $54,038 – $88,108/annually

Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8am-4:30pm

Duties:

Recruiting and Employment Consulting (50%):

o Participate as a key member of the University’s hiring team by providing recruitment and employment support to designated University units.

o Implement the results of the intake and hiring service timeline documents supporting both the central recruiter and unit hiring manager

o Review and audit job openings

o Assist units in the interview process as requested

o Consult on hiring policies and procedures

o Assist in implementing recruitment and sourcing plans

o Build relationships with assigned units by understanding and supporting their hiring needs

o Ensure hiring service standards are met

o Facilitate resolution of hiring concerns/issues raised within the units

Unit Hiring Data Management (20%)

o Provide expertise and information related to unit hiring data i.e. volume of activity, position status, applicant pools

o Provide general information related to labor market conditions and talent availability both internally and externally

o Gather and analyze unit hiring data to provide recommendations and advice on hiring needs

o Adhere to OFCCP compliance requirements and all applicable employment laws

Candidate Management (20%):

o Screen application materials for Civil Service, Labor-Represented and identified P&A positions

o Interpret application qualifications

o Complete priority hire assessment

o Analyze and assess candidate pools

o Review/analyze background check results

o Advise candidates on job search strategies

o Manage high volume hiring process

Recruitment Activities and Planning (10%):

o Assist Talent Acquisition consultants in defining and implementing strategic recruiting plans for faculty and staff vacancies for designated units

o Utilize recruitment and sourcing tools (LinkedIn, On-demand Video Inteviewing, interview schedulers etc.) and serve as a resource to hiring managers on hiring process issues and programs

o Participate as requested on search committees and interview panels

o Support recruiters and hiring managers by identifying key sources for applicant recruitment, including sources for high volume hiring.

o Represent the University at some public relations events, job fairs and other community networking opportunities.
