Salary:

Primary Duties:

As an IT Systems Consultant, you will do a combination of ongoing technology support and project work. For ongoing clients, provide hands on maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, implementation, training, account review, coordination of third party monitoring & maintenance and help desk services, documentation, and assisting client in preparing IT budgets and reports. On a project basis, assess IT infrastructure and practices, and recommend solutions and improvements based on industry standards and best practices. Deliver technology implementation projects such as migration to cloud services, installing and configuring equipment, and training staff on use of technology. Your most important client will be MAP itself. You will oversee MAP’s internal technology, ensuring reliability and security as well as overall alignment of IT with our programs and services.

Experience:

The position requires exceptional interpersonal and problem solving skills. Clear, concise written English, and ability to present technical analysis and recommendations in lay terms, are essential.

Technical qualifications should include a deep understanding of technology trends affecting small-medium sized nonprofits, familiarity with best practices in nonprofit technology, and ability to connect IT strategy with nonprofit program and services.

You will also need intimate knowledge of network infrastructure and cloud services with ability to diagnose and troubleshoot technology problems.

Required:

BA/BS degree in related field, trade certification or industry training (MCSE, MCSA, etc.)

The ideal candidate will have 5+ years’ recent experience as a network administrator or engineer, consulting experience, and aptitude for complex, strategic projects.

This would be a great growth position for a person who already has solid technical expertise, and demonstrates the soft skills necessary to excel as a strategic consultant.

Additional info:

Local travel is required and consultant must provide their own transportation. This position reports to the Director of Technology & Innovation.
