Our Anoka, MN location is seeking a Senior Information Architect to add to our team. This location has a rich history in the community and has been operating since 1922. The Senior Information Architect will be involved in the entire lifecycle of an implementation with overall responsibility for the architecture, standards, methodology and designs utilized, including but not limited to understanding key functional gaps, data models, interface, transformation and technical specification design.
As a member of the IT team, they will be responsible for medium to large scale projects and will oversee and/or perform all aspects of project design – technical architecture, development design/standards and testing design/coverage. This position will be responsible for long term strategic roadmaps and development of enterprise strategies. They will be responsible for on-going process improvements, developing a collaborative environment and building relationships with the business. You must be a thought leader and change agent who is able to adapt in a very fast paced ever changing environment.
Responsibilities:
- Partner with business and implementation teams on implementation and enhancement projects.
- Provide leadership for large projects and ensure solution architecture conforms to existing standards or new reference standards have been developed.
- Create, facilitate, and/or oversee application architecture and development designs to ensure solutions meet business’ functional requirements.
- Review and develop design specifications to ensure standards are current and align with industry best practices.
- Facilitate strategic planning and development of architectural roadmaps, including presenting to business divisions and senior management.
- Understand industry direction, best practices and technologies to discuss options with other technical team members and supervisors. This including developers, architects, delivery team leaders and management.
- Coordinate the implementation of architecture solutions with technical resources and members of the process and business teams.
- Drive resolution of implementation and technical issues related to assigned projects.
- Providing thought leadership, mentoring and inspiring others to achieve a World Class IT environment within the Sporting Group.
Education and Experience Requirements:
- Bachelor or Master Degree in Computer Science, Business, Mathematics or any other applied sciences.
- Minimum of 10 years prior experience with data warehousing and Information delivery projects, with a deep knowledge of industry leading best practices.
- 3+ years of experience successfully delivering data/information warehouse projects utilizing the Microsoft product stack, (SQL, Integration Services, Reporting Services, Analysis Services, PowerPivot)
- Demonstrated experience as lead architect of medium to large scale projects.
- Experience with dimensional and relational database modeling, especially Entity Relationship Diagramming, Normalization, and Data Flow Diagrams.
- Strong SQL skills with ability to develop database views and tune query performance. Experience with C/C#, X++ or Java highly desirable.
- In-depth understanding of architecture and best practices for a global enterprise data warehouse.
- Familiarity with standard system delivery methodologies such as Waterfall, Spiral, Iterative and Agile.
- Strong business and technical aptitude with an attitude to solve complex problems.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills. Ability to document and communicate ideas to both business-focused and technical-focused audience.
- Professionally mature with appreciation for big picture, attention to detail, succinct communication and client management.
- Experience documenting functional and technical requirements, technical design, test cases and training material.
- Willingness to go the extra mile to drive success for the team and the organization.
- Ability to travel as required.
Preferred Experience Requirements:
- Experience with In Memory Data Warehouse technologies.
- Experience using SQL 2012.
- Experience with SharePoint 2013.
