It happened again… during MinneBar 9 (spring 2014) and for the 4th year in a row I was having conversations all day with companies having a hard time finding IT pros and IT pros saying they couldn’t find cool companies to work at.
How can that be???
They were in the same sessions… eating in the same cafeteria.
These conversations are no different than the ones I have had at CoCo, recruiter and HR events and with those attending IT user group and meetups for the past few years.
So, rather than continue to annoy my friends with a rant about this I am going to take their advice, “Shut up and start a job board”.
This is not new for me… I have been posting Minnesota Recruiter Jobs and Minnesota IT Jobs for Nonprofits for many, many years.
For now I am going to have it here on my Minnesota Headhunter blog. It’s easier for me if I have one site to think about than two.
Are there other job boards in Minnesota? Yes.
If you are posting (recruiting) or searching (job seeking) should you continue to use them? Yes.
All I know is I am going to try and help the startup and tech companies (I am sure my Fortune 500 friends will post too) I see every day get the word out about their job and career opportunities.
When I get that far… create a page here about why folks should think about moving here for life, work and play.
That’s the idea… and taking the advice of my friends, “Shut up and start one”.
To get it up and running this is not going to be pretty… and categories will be simple.
