The Cloud Engineer position acts as the primary resource responsible for implementing a Cloud Management Platform (CMP). This role will be responsible for the administration and automation required to implement and support the CMP. This position will help Best Buy adopt Agile IT and drive transformation to an Agile IT operating model.
Key position responsibilities include:
- Administer all aspects of the CMP. Including but not limited to the following - blueprint creation and service catalog administration; integrations with AD, CMDB, IPAM, monitoring, network, storage, public and private clouds
- Automation - Chef or Puppet scripting and HP Operations Orchestration
- Collaborate with architecture, engineering, and support teams to design high level solutions and provide ongoing support and delivery of the platform
The ideal candidates will possess:
- Broad Infrastructure experience - cloud computing, automation, virtualization, compute, storage, network, and data center hosting
- Experience with CMP's such as ServiceMesh and IaaS technologies such as VMWare, OpenStack, and Amazon AWS
- Experience with cloud lifecycle management and release management methodologies
- Experience working in a cross functional team in an enterprise IT environment
Basic Requirements:
- 5 or more years of experience working with IT systems, capabilities, platforms or processes
- 1 or more years of experience implementing and supporting cloud technologies (Chef or Puppet, public and private cloud management, virtualization)
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or advanced degree in IT, Computer Science, business or related field
- Engrained agile and DevOps culture
- Solid understanding of TCP/IP networking
- Experience with a top cloud provider
- Prior experience in a global enterprise
