STOP… What If LinkedIn Dies?

Recap: 2017 Ready, Set, GO!!! Recruiter Checklist

My first speaking event of the year was with my hometown friends at MNTRN (Minnesota Technical Recruiters Network). We had 70 or so Minnesota HR, Recruiter an Sourcers for a lunch n learn hosted by MRA and sponsored by On Demand Group.

Here are a few photos:

Here is part of the promo for the event:

The New Year has started, are you recruiting the same way you did in 2016? - Are you looking for a few ideas to try out? - Are you doing the same old things in the New Year? - Get a jump start on 2017 with these “to do’s”.

The idea was to take a little break… a step back from the recruiting chaos and do an audit of our recruiting practices and strategies. My goal was to give them a checklist of things to be thinking about and doing in coming days and weeks including:

  • Application Process
  • Interview Process
  • Job Descriptions
  • Social Media Calendar
  • LinkedIn, Facebook and Twitter Updates
  • Hiring Managers
  • LinkedIn
  • Analytics
  • Job Boards
  • Industry Knowledge
  • Email / InMail
  • Recruiter Brand
  • Retention
  • Where To Recruit
  • Resources
  • Audit Search / Consulting Firms
  • Create Personas

That’s a healthy list of “to do’s” and my recommendation was to take a couple of them on at a time.

I have a couple of blog posts to write about content from the day including a conversation about this:
