When I first heard about the following event I knew it was going to be a big one… MinneAnalytics teamed up with the Social Media and Business Analytics Collaborative at the University of Minnesota to host DATE NIGHT! -- How Data Science Leads to “I do.”
Chris is the guy who while working on his dissertation, reverse-engineered OKCupid’s algorithms in order to match with more potential dates. And met the woman who would become his fiance.
Here is an article in Wired magazine How a Math Genius Hacked OkCupid to Find True Love.
A range of topics were covered from how to do as many dates as Chris did, to the acceptance of online dating, to creating optimal profiles.
It’s not often a “Big Data” event is as funny or has as many “one liners” as this one did.
