Good News For Executive Job Seekers

A natural progression as we come out of the “Great Recession” is the need to add executive and upper management talent. No longer a time to survive but to start growing again.

This is a good article showing how things change as we go forward, if ever so slowly.

CNBC has Job Outlook for Executives Is 'Strong' as Firms Seek Growth

“The outlook is strong for executives,” said John A. Challenger, CEO of employment-research firm Challenger, Gray & Christmas. “Companies are trying to get executives that can help them capture the era of growth — instead of just trying to survive the recession.”

And

Sales and marketing executives will be among the most in demand, Challenger said, because they’re on the front lines of growth. By contrast, when times are tough, companies tend to put their financial or operational people in charge.

“For a lot of marketing executives and professionals who got stuck in this recession, now opportunities are starting to open up again,” Challenger said.

Experimenting with TypePad Micro

Most people I know struggle with not having enough content to blog about but I have the opposite issue. Between Recruiter, HR, Business, MN events, Career content and all the random stuff I come across I never lack for content.

I do get overwhelmed with thinking about where to start writing.

Another issue is not everything needs a full blog post and some things need more context than a Tweet can provide.

So I am going to give this a shot as a way to relax my mind a bit with the amount of material I see and provide better context of what I am linking to and why it, why I think it matters.

For now I am calling this Paul DeBettignies Notes and using TypePad Micro. I am not using the Minnesota Headhunter name on it because most of the notes are not specific to the usual blog content.

I thought about doing this as a stand alone site but for now keeping it here on Minnesota Headhunter with this page link http://www.mnheadhunter.com/paul-debettignies-notes

I will play with the colors and add some CSS code over the next week.

And will link it from within the other blog pages later today.

Not so much now with this first post but as the week goes by tell me what you think about this.
