Nerd Search is a “one man band” of an IT recruiting practice. All of the recruiting, client relationships, marketing, PR and back office tasks are done by me which is to say the work is never done and sometimes the day to day juggling of a firm finds as many balls on the ground as there are in the air.
Not the introduction you were expecting I bet but it is the truth so why hide it.
Here is the short story:
I am a Minnesota IT Recruiter, author of this blog, Co Founder and Coordinator of Minnesota Recruiters, listed as a Top 20 Minnesota Social Media Innovator and listed on HR Examiner as a national Top 25 Most Influential Online Recruiter and Top 25 HR Digital Influencer.
I am a frequent local and national speaker and article contributor on recruiter, HR, career, networking and social media topics.
So what does that mean?
The long story goes like this:
I have been an IT Recruiter for 13+ years helping Minnesota companies find IT professionals from the Help Desk to CIO including Project Managers and Business Analysts. From 1997 to 2010 this has been in full time, permanent placement situations and beginning in 2011 this will include consulting and contracting placements and likely a new company name. Stay tuned…
Besides being a Minnesota IT Recruiter I am involved in the Minneapolis and St Paul technology, marketing and social media community as a sponsor, volunteer and speaker at events like MinneBar, UnSummit and Social Media Breakfast Minneapolis St Paul.
The Minnesota Headhunter blog has been up since 2005 and what started as a therapy session for my day to day business has become a place where my professional world comes together in many different ways.
Minnesota Recruiters has become a major Recruiter and HR event. We have now had 12 half day events hosted at Best Buy and General Mills and have 200+ in attendance at each event.
With all of this has come some local and national recognition as a speaker, thought leader and educator at national events like the Fordyce Forum and Social Recruiting Summit and here at home with groups like Human Resource Professionals, Human Resources Executive Council, University of Minnesota Carlson School of Management and Minnesota Recruiting and Staffing Association.
What may be most important to me is what has become the Be Your Own Headhunter job search seminars. Going on 8 years now I have been before groups of 15-250 with people of all ages giving advice on networking and doing a job search.
