The Schwan Food Company is seeking a corporate recruiter to join our corporate Talent Acquisition team. You will be part of a passionate recruiting team dedicated to acquiring top talent into our growing organization.  Selecting the right talent to join our Authentic Leadership focused culture is one of most value-added components of this role. As part of this team you will work alongside and have access to senior leaders and cross division partners with extensive industry experience along with Recruiting Coordinators who will partner with you and provide support.  Schwan’s offers a culture of empowerment and trust, including flexible work hours.

The Corporate Recruiter will be responsible for the full life-cycle recruiting process for technical and corporate positions. The primary areas of focus will be Global Supply Chain, IT, Engineering and R&D.  This is a hands-on recruiting role that requires a strong sense of urgency, attention to detail, and effective time management to fill open positions in a range of disciplines and develop talent pipelines for future staffing needs across multiple functional areas.

Responsibilities include:

Manage the full life-cycle recruiting process for assigned roles, including but not limited to:

  • Review resumes, interview candidates, and administer appropriate talent assessments

  • Refer qualified candidates through the selection process

  • Facilitate the reference and background check processes

  • In tandem  with the HR Business partners:  Extend employment offers, negotiate as required, and counsel candidates on corporate environment, benefits and programs

  • Facilitate the interview team debrief process to calibrate candidates, determine next steps, and refine sourcing plan as necessary

Partner with hiring managers to understand business and recruitment needs. Develop and implement sourcing strategies for assigned positions.

Develop talent pipelines through building and maintaining relationships with potential candidates, internal leaders, and other external resources to identify highly qualified talent.

Manage candidate activity in the applicant tracking system and assist in developing requirements and recommendations for improved systems and processes.

Manage candidates throughout the hiring process, developing strong candidate relationships and collaborating with others to ensure a positive candidate experience throughout the selection process.

Represent the company at career fairs, professional conferences, community networking events, and targeted colleges and universities, as needed.

Prepares reports, documenting recruitment activity and effectiveness.

Partners with Compensation department to establish and maintain standards and efficiencies between Talent Acquisition and Compensation.

Qualifications:

Education:  Bachelor’s degree in business, HR, or other related field.

Years of Related Experience: 3 - 5 years of related work experience.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

  • Intermediate skill level with Microsoft Office Suite and Outlook needed;

  • Proven proficiency in sourcing strategies utilizing multiple channels.  Success using LinkedIn recruiter preferred.

  • Ability to prioritize tasks and work under tight deadlines in a fast paced environment

  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple searches, hiring managers, and projects simultaneously;

  • Strong negotiation skills and an ability to influence others;

  • Experience developing ways of accomplishing goals with little or no supervision, depending on oneself to complete objectives and determining when escalation of issues is necessary;

  • Strong verbal and written communication, influencing and interpersonal skills with an ability to work with all levels of staff and management;

  • Attention to detail and accuracy in work;

  • Applicant Tracking System experience, preferably with Taleo ;

  • Experience recruiting in technical areas (e.g.: IT, Engineering, etc.)
