The Archdiocese of Saint Paul and Minneapolis was first established as a diocese by the Vatican in 1850 (originally Minnesota and the Dakotas), and elevated to archdiocese 38 years later. Now comprising a 12 county area, the Archdiocese has 210 parishes and 95 Catholic schools (including elementary and high schools) and is home to over 750,000 Catholics within Archdiocesan parishes. Within the area are six Catholic nursing homes, four Catholic hospitals, ten retreat centers, and six monastic communities. Currently, there are 456 priests (344 Diocesan priests of which 229 are active and 115 are retired, as well as 112 religious priests), 1,400 religious sisters, brothers, deacons and thousands of lay personnel and volunteers that serve in the parishes and in many other ministries.

The Technician II is accountable for resolution of cases escalated from the help desk as well as the resolution of high priority, in-depth technical problems and the design and implementation of networks they support and oversee.

Essential functions of this position include, but are not limited to:

1. Performing support tasks, including onsite and remote escalated cases

PCs for People is a 501(C)(3) non-profit corporation with offices in St. Paul and Mankato, MN. PCs for People takes donated computers and rebuilds, refurbishes and redistributes them to people with limited access to technology. PCs for People provides educational experience, work training, internships, as well as volunteer opportunities.

Hours:

9:30 AM to 5:30 PM

Salary:

$10 per hour

This position is responsible for completing customer repairs and refurbishing donated computers. Duties include computer troubleshooting, hard drive sanitization, disk imaging, automated operating system installation, disassembling computers, assembling computers, computer repairs, telephone technical support, computer loading/unloading and other duties as needed.
