West Side Community Health Services is a federally qualified community health center in St. Paul providing medical and dental services to a diverse population at several locations.

Salary: $24.70 - $34.58 per hour
Hours: 40 hrs/wk
Job Summary:
The EMR Application Specialist plays a key role in the maintenance and enhancement of a Network deployed General Electric Centricity Electronic Medical Record (EMR).
The Network is comprised of three organizations - Indian Health Board, Neighborhood HealthSource, and West Side Community Health Services.
The EMR Application Specialist provides technical expertise and ongoing training and support for staff using the EMR.
Job Responsibilities:
1. Content development
a. Help develop needed clinical content as directed by the EMR Project Manager through the use of technical tools such as Visual Form Editor and CCC text file editor.
2. Training
a. Assist in developing training materials.
b. Perform trainings in groups and with individuals, e.g. new hires.
c. Perform trainings to improve our efficiency with the EMR.
3. Support/Help desk
a. Work with the NetGain help desk and field support questions from staff. When needed a case will be filed with GE support and the specialist will be responsible to follow through to an adequate resolution of the problem.
b. Work with the IS department of each Health Center to troubleshoot technical issues that arise.
4. Data quality monitoring
a. Work as a member of the team to assure ongoing data integrity of the EMR through maintenance of scheduled reports and data clean-up as needed.
5. Interface management
a. Work as a member of the team to assure management of the LinkLogic interfaces, in tandem with the IS department and other clinical departments, such as lab.
b. Troubleshoot error resolution issues
c. Maintenance of cross-reference file.
6. Reporting
a. Work as a member of the team to monitor and improve clinical outcomes.
b. Understand on a basic level the use of Crystal reports to provide custom reports to key clinical leaders in support of clinical programs, grants, and other reporting needs - such as P4P and managed care quality reports.
c. Understand on a basic level the use of Meridios to provide custom reports to key clinical leaders in support of clinical programs, grants, and other reporting needs - such as P4P and managed care quality reports.
Experience:
Bachelor’s Degree in computer sciences or related field.
Excellent computer skills and strong communication skills.
Experience with data reporting tools.
Experience and skills in training and teaching others.
EMR implementation or maintenance experience preferred.
Experience in quality improvement or information systems in a community health center preferred.
