A little about the position...

In addition to marketing, your job is to make an undeniably positive impact on our company, our culture, and, most importantly, our customers. As long as you make your best effort and you love to learn, we will do everything we can to support you and help you do the best work of your life.

Right now, we have an immediate need for a marketing director who not only drives user acquisition, but also user activation, retention, and loyalty. We are seeking someone with strengths in the following: social media, content marketing, community building, email marketing, and strategic partnerships with brands and influencers. Bonus points if you’re experienced in the world of e-commerce, fashion, retail, and/or mom-focused brands. Double bonus points if you’re skilled at a variety of board games (we have a weekly game day).

Everyone at Kidizen wears many hats. You’ll be open to jumping into the world of kid style, and “momming” with both feet, even though you may not relate to this world. We are not looking for someone who’s already an expert in everything they do. We’re looking for someone smart who demonstrates the interest, drive, and desire to keep learning new things and new perspectives, and continually get better.

Working at Kidizen is a unique opportunity. We have a small team, so you won’t be one of dozens. You’ll be one of a few, so your impact will be felt inside and outside the company. You’ll be working on a product that is used by hundreds of thousands of people at a company that is growing at supersonic speeds. You will help drive us in new directions. You’ll help us see things we haven’t seen before, consider things we’ve never considered before, and bring fresh perspective to our team. We think you’ll also have fun along the way.

A little about you...

You’re an experienced marketer.
Experience is not measured in the number of years you’ve been in the industry but rather in the breadth and innovativeness of the marketing programs you’ve designed and executed.

As an experienced marketer you can identify new opportunities, as well as where and why our communication is failing. You know how to measure the effectiveness of campaigns through testing and tracking data. You ask a lot of questions, especially “why?”, no question is too basic. You throw yourself into customer research to understand behavior. You understand when it is time to push for a solution and when it’s time to hold off. Although you have notebooks full of ideas, you recognize which ones pay off the brand, are economical to develop and test, and meet business requirements.

You care about the customer.
You are empathetic, curious, and inquisitive. You believe that being part psychologist is a skill set required of a good marketer. You seek to understand consumers in new ways — what drives them, what excites them, and also where their pain points are and ways in which they may need a helping hand. You see every touch point as an opportunity to make someone’s day a little better and brighter.

You love what you do.
You are passionate about finding new ways to connect with and engage users. You love to explore how people express themselves, relate to others, and find their tribe. You wake up in the morning excited to share new ideas and explore new directions.

You’re a creative problem solver.
You have an entrepreneurial spirit and love to innovate. You have the ability to get creative, take risks and go a little guerilla with your strategy. You start sentences by saying, “This may sound a little crazy, but what if we…”.

You get things done.
Everyone says they’re a team player, but you’re a legit team player. “Not my job” is not in your vocabulary. You collaborate with all players. You’re the one who steps up to the plate and you are not afraid to get your hands dirty. You set your own goals and meet them, because you care that much.

This position is for full-time in Minneapolis.
