Accomplishes results primarily through a team of managers and/or experienced specialists who exercise significant latitude and independence. Provides strategic direction to one or more departments. Establishes policies appropriate for the function and makes decisions on operational/administrative matters. Interprets and recommends modifications to enterprise-wide policies & practices. Interacts with senior management and others concerning matters of significance to the company to update on progress against key business initiatives and IT Steering Committee updates. Conducts business and technical briefings for senior and top management and key external stakeholders.

Major Areas of Accountability:

  • Perform supervisory functions, including but not limited to, making employment decisions regarding hiring, promoting, demoting and terminating, conducting performance appraisals and coaching and developing staff. Manage performance concerns and disciplinary action in accordance with established procedures.

  • Leads and guides the development of function specific strategies and initiatives that are aligned with the departments and the Company’s strategic goals and long term plans.
  • Provides technical expertise and oversees the expansion of innovative business solutions, programs and services.

  • Creates and fosters strategic partnerships and influential relationships with senior leaders to within IT and across the enterprise.

  • Sources, negotiates, and allocates financial, physical, or human capital to implement and support major projects and programs.

  • Develops and administers budgets for the implementation and support of integrated, cost-effective business solutions.

  • Approve and monitor plans, performance targets and measures for reporting areas.

  • Develop leadership strength in functional areas by coaching leaders and staff in the development of critical competencies and by modeling valued leadership behaviors.

  • Provides career planning advice to staff and creates development plans to help them achieve their career goals including assigning work which leverages their skills and capabilities and provides them with learning opportunities.

  • Anticipates and analyzes trends in technology and assess the impact of emerging technologies on the business.

  • Maintains appropriate professional designations and up-to-date knowledge of current information technology techniques and tools.

Qualifications

Required Qualification:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or other technical field or equivalent work experience

  • 10+ years of progressively responsible positions in Information Technology.

  • Strong leader with a demonstrated track record recruiting and developing teams in current- and next-generation platforms and systems’ needs.

  • Demonstrated experience in creating, leading, and implementing large scale strategic projects.

  • Strong communication skills and excellence in negotiation with business partners.

  • Strong relationship building and interpersonal skills.

  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with executive leadership, lines of business stakeholders, and technology staff across the organization.

  • Background in information delivery including BI/analytic reporting, operational reporting, KPIs, using reporting services.

  • Experience in development of business strategies, Center of Expense strategies and delivery of enterprise data services.

  • Financial Services industry experience

  • Experience in IT planning and business relationship management

  • Experience working in a matrix management organization

  • Experience with product development and management

  • Manage a team of direct and indirect staff

Preferred Qualification:

  • MBA
