Back End Software Engineer - Technical Lead

Full Time Minnesota Tech Job

Irish Titan

Full disclosure: This is not a “by the numbers” job, because we are not a “by the numbers” company.  We are, however, the recipient of multiple Best Places to Work awards and nominations. But wait….there’s more!

We are a rapidly growing digital agency seeking a talented, driven individual to come along for the ride. We’re looking for someone to do more than just fit in; we’re looking for a Back End Software Engineer and Technical Lead to make us better. Having the right personality is as important as having the right skillset. Culture is on a par with competence, and our culture is based on a combination of:

  • Business First, Online Second™ (Our “Why.”)

  • Partnerships, Not Transactions (Our “How.”)

  • POTIS (Just ask.)

Our developers are responsible for programming online platforms that bring to life our clients’ brand, vision and business purpose. You will collaborate with project managers, solutions analysts, digital strategists, and other developers. The goal is to deliver scalable and reliable technology solutions that provide engaging user experiences and truly support business objectives. Those experiences will range from sophisticated and elegant ecommerce platforms to robust software-as-a-service platforms and beyond.

On some projects, you will serve as Technical Lead. The Technical Lead is responsible for technically detailed project planning, requirements, documentation and performance. You will be a primary client-facing technical resource, articulating and capturing requirements supporting client business requirements. You will be heavily involved in the technical components required for project success - architecture, requirements, documentation, and production efforts. Technical Leads don’t have to have all the answers - pulling together the expertise of the technical team to answer challenging questions and remove tough obstacles is a mark of success. You will work closely with project managers, representing technical resources, providing updates, enforcing scope and budget performance, and participating in client communications.

This work is at the core of our ongoing relationships with our clients. Every piece of value you deliver will directly contribute to their success and help those relationships thrive. Are you ready to make that kind of impact every day?

SPECIFIC ACCOUNTABILITIES
  • Perform primarily back-end development work on multiple projects and tasks at a time.
  • Build and maintain high quality code, using version control best practices defined by Irish Titan.
  • Read and understand design and technical requirements, and estimate development effort required to implement them.
  • Maintain an understanding of what business value your work delivers to our clients; the Why.
  • Proactively communicate with project managers, clients, and others to obtain the necessary details for assessing and understanding work to be done.
  • Help establish best practices for documentation procedures and protocols, including functional and technical requirements and user stories.
  • Adhere to our practices of time tracking, task management and project management to provide a high degree of visibility for your work.
  • Remain up-to-date with software versions of Irish Titan development packages, platforms and tools.
  • Integrate user-facing elements developed by front-end developers.

Full Stack Web Developer

Full Time Minnesota Tech Job

WebClipDrop

If the below items sound like you, then let’s talk!

You...

  • are a sharp, driven developer that would consider themselves full-stack.
  • have an intimate understanding of the world of HTML, Javascript, and the DOM.
  • have experience (but not necessarily expert knowledge) with various JS frameworks and methodologies.
  • are a self-starter that loves challenges, and getting your code in the hands of customers as fast as possible.
  • have experience with a backend server-side language(s) and their associated web frameworks (Ruby on Rails, Python/Django, etc).
  • understand REST and web APIs.
  • love working as part of a crack team of skilled developers who are constantly learning from each other.
  • Are comfortable working in person with a team or remote, and can effectively manage your own schedule and workload to deliver maximum output from your time.

About Us

WebClipDrop is a small (but rapidly growing!) venture-backed startup based in the Twin Cities, MN. We build solutions to help recruiters, talent managers, and other HR folks make their data more portable and rapidly increase their output. Our first product is a Google Chrome extension to help our customers extract job and candidate info from all over the web, their own systems, and legacy data sources, then enrich that data and leverage it at the point of need across their entire workflow. We are a small team of dedicated technologists across the HR-tech space and all have been in the startup trenches for years, with multiple exits under our collective belts.

About the Role

Our Chrome Extension is powered by a series of Javascript definitions that tell our extension how structured data maps to various interfaces across the web (such as an “Add Candidate” page of a HR web app, a public resume on a job board, etc). These maps leverage an SDK we have developed to manipulate the web page, data, and UI components to bend the data, experience, and workflow to our will. Initially you will work with the Tech Lead to learn these mapping systems to build out, maintain, and continue to evolve the maps and underlying toolkit. Additionally, you will work to build out an admin interface for our internal team to manage these maps, determine when they need to be updated, and proactively build new ones.

Beyond the above described near term goals, you will learn the rest of our technology stack to build features and add value. As a startup we will constantly have fun new challenges and product ideas to implement, and will be moving very rapidly!

We will be paying a competitive, market-rate salary for this position, with the opportunity to earn valuable equity and upside potential. We have a flexible, unlimited “take it as you need it” vacation policy, and flexibility in terms of work location (we work out of coworking in St Paul but have an HQ sales office in Excelsior as well). Some in-person work days with the team are required but there will be ample opportunity for remote work. We also offer a healthcare reimbursement plan to our employees for health insurance.

This is a high responsibility, high autonomy position and you’ll be deploying code to production within the first day or two. We believe that product development is more fun when deploying early and often, splitting up work into bite-sized chunks and getting feedback from real users as quickly as possible. Full Time Minnesota Tech Job

Livefront

We're looking for an excellent Digital Product UI/UX Designer to join our team. We are a tight-knit, talented group of engineers and designers building custom mobile and web software for smart clients.

We have an incredible attention to detail and very high standards—if you want to join our team, you'll need to demonstrate that you do too. Your primary role will be user interface design and user experience design for custom mobile and web applications. You will work directly with clients.

Besides having an almost unnatural talent for designing beautiful interfaces, you can take a set of complex information and distill it into simplicity and elegance.

We believe you can't build great software without great design. We believe it is the small details that set a design apart. You believe in these things too.

Great writing and verbal skills are required. Seriously. You have a proven track-record of self-motivation. Your designs are classy and clear. You're active in the tech/design community. You want to join a team where quality work is valued. We are looking for someone to join our team in Minneapolis.

If you would like to speak with me about this send any of the following: summary, resume, links to LinkedIn and/or portfolio, GitHub, StackOverflow. Heck, I’ll take a good haiku:
